Staff Accountant (on-site)

We have an immediate, full-time job opening for a Staff Accountant. This exciting position offers an intermediate accountant looking for career advancement the opportunity to work with a dynamic company in the technology industry. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will have responsibilities in sales order credit approval, customer lease management, reconciling invoicing and customer payment transactions, collections, bank deposits, maintaining reconciliation schedules, account analysis, journal entries, and other accounting duties in a small but busy accounting department.

You will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and approving sales orders and credit, managing the customer lease book, reconciling invoices and customer payments transactions, and collections
  • Working closely with Sales and our Clients to resolve any customer issues
  • Invoicing, cash receipts, and revenue reconciliation for Vendor Clients including addressing any discrepancies or issues
  • Banking deposits and petty cash
  • Processing journal entries and preparing account analysis
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statement
  • Providing cross-functional support to other members of the accounting team when needed
  • Maintaining and updating accurate financial records including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger entries, and other financial transactions
  • Working closely with other departments to provide information and insights, contributing to the overall success of the company
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards, preparing, and submitting necessary reports in a timely manner
  • Analyzing financial data and trends to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement, cost reduction, and process improvements
  • Assisting with special projects and other ad-hoc tasks as neede

This opportunity is for you if:

  • You possess excellent oral and written communications skills
  • You are proficient in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel capabilities (v-lookup, pivot tables)
  • You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • You can communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with customers, co-workers, and our vendor clients
  • You are highly organized, detail-oriented, can manage multiple priorities and able to meet deadlines consistently
  • You can maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high level of integrity
  • You are passionate about customer satisfaction and eager to take on new tasks and responsibilities
  • You are mature, positive, and can demonstrate collaborative interpersonal skills

A post-secondary degree/diploma in Accounting or Finance with a professional CA, CGA, CMA or finalist designation or a minimum of 5 years similar transactional accounting experience equivalent is preferred. This challenging and exciting role includes a base salary of $50,000 to $60,000 (commensurate with experience), company-paid health benefits, and excellent prospects for long-term growth.
